The Apex Chassis Aluminum Extreme Duty Drag Link Kit (Polished) KIT382-POL is a heavy-duty drag link kit to upgrade the steering in your Dodge Ram 2500/3500. This kit features oversized drag link ends, connected by massive aluminum adjusting sleeves, to help eliminate death wobble and tighten up the steering under the most extreme conditions. The weak stock adjusting sleeves are replaced via drag link ends threading directly into the connecting rods and secured by proprietary jam nuts (which include the extra holding power of 3 set screws threaded into the wrench flats) and ProLock Washers built into the tie rod and drag link ends.
CNC Machined Housing: Makes these parts and bearings dimensionally perfect, eliminating any die wear issues.
Induction Heat Treated Ball Studs: Provides a very precise heat treatment to the exact depth and location we want it.
Rolled Threads: Made by pressing the shape of the threads into the ball stud instead of cutting. This strengthens the threads instead of weakening them and allows for easy movement of hardware.
Step Threads: Allows for very easy movement of hardware on install and superior holding when torqued (installer choice).
Accordion Boot: Ideal for high-articulation components, more flexibility means longer life.
Castle Nut: Industry standard where high vibration loads occur.
The best aluminum available for this application. Extremely durable but has some flex and memory if you really bash it into something.
Greaseable: Because it should be.
Pre-Greased: Just in case you forget, we have you covered.
Gull Winged Grease Grooves: Allows for improved lubrication disbursement around the ball stud.
Zerk Fittings: Included for every application.
Minimum Engagement Mark on Drag Link End Threads: If this mark in the thread of the drag link is showing it means you are beyond the safe engagement of threads into the adjusting sleeve. You may be lifted too high and need to switch to a flip kit or you may need to equal out the adjusting sleeve between the two ends.
Greaseable, High Articulation Spherical Bushing: For extreme durability the passenger side tie rod is fitted with an oversized greaseable high articulation spherical bushing. This allows for maximum articulation and load disbursement, for better performance, and longer life.
The adjusting sleeves are made in the USA
Steel: is a great choice for everything from highway driving to overland and fast desert style racing. The steel has less flex and offers a tighter feel and control. With this style of driving and use, you're generally less likely to drop or drive the tie rod into a rock. Another benefit of steel is that you may be able to fix a bend on the trail if it's damaged off-road.
Aluminum: This is the preferred choice for serious crawlers where there is more potential to drive into or land the tie rod onto a rock. In this case flexibility will take stress off the other components in your steering during the impact and the memory will let everything bounce back into place once you have your rig landed on all four wheels. The Aluminum also has a bling factor to it.
HOUSING:
SAE 1045 Solid Steel Forged Housing: This is unequivocally the best carbon alloy steel for this application.CNC Machined Housing: Makes these parts and bearings dimensionally perfect, eliminating any die wear issues.
BALL STUDS:
SAE 4140 Hot Forged Chromoly Ball Studs: For the strongest possible metallurgy.Induction Heat Treated Ball Studs: Provides a very precise heat treatment to the exact depth and location we want it.
Rolled Threads: Made by pressing the shape of the threads into the ball stud instead of cutting. This strengthens the threads instead of weakening them and allows for easy movement of hardware.

BEARING DESIGN:
Rugged Metal to Metal BearingBOOTS:
CR Rubber Boots: The most durable material for undercar applications. Resistant to deterioration from road level ozone, oil/gas/engine fluids and extreme heat or cold.Accordion Boot: Ideal for high-articulation components, more flexibility means longer life.
FINISH:
Polished Aluminum: Highly polished, raw aluminumHARDWARE:
Grade 8 - Class 10.9 Hardware: Superior tensile strength.Castle Nut: Industry standard where high vibration loads occur.
ADJUSTING RODS:
Drag Link: 2" 7075-T6 Aluminum RodThe best aluminum available for this application. Extremely durable but has some flex and memory if you really bash it into something.
LUBRICATION:
Pre Threaded Zerk Housing: If you have ever installed a Ball Joint without a pre-threaded zerk fitting you will understand what a simple but great feature this is.Greaseable: Because it should be.
Pre-Greased: Just in case you forget, we have you covered.
Gull Winged Grease Grooves: Allows for improved lubrication disbursement around the ball stud.
Zerk Fittings: Included for every application.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
Pre Bent Ninja Washers (tm): An APEX exclusive is our Ninja Washer which is a unique method of securing the lock nut to the tube, erasing the need for lightly built adjusting tubes with ugly pinch clamps.Minimum Engagement Mark on Drag Link End Threads: If this mark in the thread of the drag link is showing it means you are beyond the safe engagement of threads into the adjusting sleeve.

Note:
Not compatible with 'high mount' stabilizer systems.
The Apex Chassis drag link does not fit PSC gearbox replacement, PSC requires a 3/4" shorter than OE drag link.2013 Dodge Ram 3500's were a split year for production.
The early model trucks use the T-style steering (drag link is attached to the Tie Rod).
The late model trucks use cross over steering (Drag link is attached to the knuckle and does not attach to the Tie Rod). Please check what style you have before ordering.
This product will fit a 3rd Gen Ram 2500/3500 (2003 - 2008) with an upgraded pitman arm ONLY with the full T Link upgrade. See APEX KIT180.
