This ball joint features a housing constructed of durable SAE 1045 solid steel forged material. The housing is CNC machined to ensure that the parts and bearings have perfect dimensions, eliminating any die wear issues. In addition, the ball studs are made of SAE 4140 hot-forged chromoly for the strongest possible metallurgy. They are also induction heat treated to provide precise heat treatment to the exact depth and location. The threads are rolled instead of cut, which strengthens them and allows for easy movement of hardware. The threads allow for easy movement of hardware during installation and superior holding when torqued.
The boots are made of CR rubber, which is an extremely durable material and is ideal for under-car applications. They are resistant to deterioration from road-level ozone, oil/gas/engine fluids, and extreme heat or cold. A phosphate finish is used, which is extremely durable and double-coated.
