The TransGo RFE-PP-ODHP Overdrive Pressure Plate prevents overdrive clutch failure in your 1999-2022 Dodge/Chrysler "RFE" Transmissions (45RFE/545RFE/65RFE/66RFE/68RFE). The stock overdrive clutch capacity is inadequate with stock power ratings, making the overdrive clutch the weak link of the transmission. Increased horsepower and torque, and the slightest deficiency in the transmission pressure control system can cause the overdrive clutch to fail.
The TransGo RFE-PP-ODHP Overdrive Pressure Plate features a hot-forged 1045 steel overdrive pressure plate that is fully CNC machined for precision. This overdrive pressure plate allows you to quickly and easily add extra capacity to the overdrive clutch pack in all models. Also, this pressure plate is a direct fit for the stock drum, meaning there is no need for you to buy an aftermarket drum. This pressure plate allows you to add two overdrive frictions for single sided application and one overdrive friction for double sided application. Single sided friction setup like in the 68RFE yields a 15% increase in surface area with the new stack up. Alternatively, a gain of 25% increase in surface area is added for double sided friction setup like in the 545RFE.
