Upgrade your Dodge 5.9L diesel with the South Bend SDD3250-5K-ORG Organic Street Dual Disc Clutch With 1.375 Input Shaft. This clutch kit features a dual disc design for improved heat dissipation, reduced wear, and increased torque capacity, making it well-suited for towing, hauling, and daily-driven diesel trucks. Each kit includes a clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel, along with a new throw-out bearing, pilot bushing, and alignment tool for a complete installation. This upgraded kit also includes a South Bend 1.375" input shaft (ISK1.375) for added drivetrain strength.

Organic Friction Material: Organic clutch material is a great choice for smooth, reliable performance in daily-driven diesel trucks. Made from a blend of organic fibers and resins, it provides consistent engagement and low noise, making it ideal for street use. This material is well-suited for trucks used for commuting, light towing, and mild performance upgrades where drivability and clutch feel are important. While it handles moderate torque loads effectively, it may wear faster under heavy towing or higher horsepower applications compared to more aggressive friction materials.

Daily Driver: This clutch is designed for daily-driven diesel trucks with a focus on smooth engagement, comfort, and long service life. It offers a factory-like pedal feel with slightly increased holding power and heat resistance over stock, making it a good fit for light towing and mild performance upgrades. It provides a balance between drivability and durability, especially in stop-and-go driving conditions. While not intended for high horsepower or heavy-duty use, it is a solid option for drivers prioritizing reliability and ease of use.

Sprung Hub Style: The sprung hub clutch is a versatile design focused on balancing performance with drivability. It features a series of dampening springs integrated into the hub, which help absorb vibrations and reduce shock during clutch engagement. By minimizing shock transfer, the sprung hub clutch prolongs the life of other drivetrain components, making it a reliable option for vehicles needing both comfort and moderate power handling. While slightly less direct in power transfer than a solid hub, it offers a superior driving experience for most street and light performance applications.

Dual Disc: The dual disc clutch offers increased performance and power-handling capacity by utilizing two friction discs instead of one. This design effectively doubles the surface area for power transfer, allowing for greater torque capacity and improved heat dissipation. Dual disc setups are ideal for performance vehicles, heavy towing, and high-horsepower applications where a standard single disc may fall short. Despite the enhanced power capacity, dual disc clutches can still provide smooth engagement when paired with a sprung hub design. They strike an excellent balance between performance and drivability, making them a preferred choice for modified street vehicles and diesel trucks requiring extra holding power.

Modified Pressure Plate: A modified pressure plate is engineered to deliver increased clamping force, enhancing torque capacity and overall clutch performance. This upgraded design often features reinforced components, heavier diaphragm springs, or altered fulcrum points to provide superior grip on the clutch disc. While modified pressure plates offer enhanced power handling, they often result in a stiffer clutch pedal feel due to the increased spring pressure.

Stage 2 Clutch: A Stage 2 clutch is designed for diesel trucks with moderate performance upgrades that require increased holding power over stock. Using upgraded friction materials, it provides improved torque capacity and heat resistance for applications such as towing, hauling, and higher horsepower builds. Compared to a stock clutch, it offers increased durability under load while maintaining reasonable drivability. A slightly firmer pedal feel and more noticeable engagement can be expected, making it a good choice for drivers who need additional performance without sacrificing everyday usability.
