Over time, the high-pressure D-rings and backup rings on the stand pipes and front port plugs become brittle from constant heat and pressure cycling. Worn seals can allow internal high-pressure oil leaks that commonly result in:

Each kit reseals:

Note: Two kits are required to reseal both cylinder heads on one engine. On two-piece stand pipes, one small D-ring will remain unused. Backup rings are only used with the newer stand pipe design.
